Description
This course will provide students with the detailed knowledge required for installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory services, which is the foundation of .NET. Furthermore it provides you a thorough understanding of group policy and how they are used to centralize the management of user environments, administer security, and deploy software.

Audience
The Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory Implementation and Administration course is designed for technical professionals responsible for configuring Microsoft Windows 2000 directory services, implementing group policy, and for an IT staff preparing their network for .NET. The course is part of the new Core MCSE program and provides the foundational information required for successful completion of the Windows 2000 MCSE certification program.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, we recommend learners complete Microsoft Windows Operating System Fundamentals 3.0, or have the equivalent skills and knowledge. Furthermore, the student should complete Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server Installation and Administration 3.0 or attain the equivalent knowledge and skills. This includes installing Windows 2000, using Windows 2000 administration tools, configuring hard disks and partitions, creating and administering printers, and controlling access to file resources by using NTFS and shared folders.

In addition, it is recommended that prior to taking this course, the student complete Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Implementation and Administration 3.0, to gain skills in installing and configuring TCP/IP, DNS, and Certificate services.
