Implementing Cisco IOS Unified Communications Part 1 (IIUC1) 1.0
| Description |
For the past few years, Voice over IP (VoIP) has been exploding in popularity. In response, Cisco released voice-specific certifications, including the Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) and CCIE Voice. However, until now, there was no entry-level certification. Fortunately, with the introduction of IIUC, students that already possess their Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification can take the IIUC exam to earn their CCNA Voice concentration.
IIUC also serves as foundational learning for students working in a Unified Communications Manager Express environment. Also, since the CCNA Voice concentration will become a prerequisite for the CCVP certification, the IIUC course offers a solid foundation for students targeting the more advanced CCVP and/or CCIE Voice certifications.
Specifically, the IIUC course seeks to provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to implement Cisco VoIP networks including: Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express, Cisco Unity Express, and the Cisco Smart Business Communications System.
|
| Skills Taught |
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
- Explain the benefits and components of a Cisco Unified Communications system
- Describe how traditional telephony systems operate
- Describe the basic operation, protocols, and components involved in a VoIP call and configure a gateway to support these calls
- Implement Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express to support a single site
- Install Cisco Unity Express, configure Cisco Unity Express AutoAttendant, and troubleshoot Cisco Unity Express
- Describe and implement the Cisco Smart Business Communications System using the Cisco Configuration Assistant
