Description
A critical component of a Cisco IP Telephony implementation is the Cisco CallManager. This course, therefore, is a critical ingredient for any engineer that strives to master Cisco’s approach to IP Telephony. Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT) 4.1 Part 2 extends your knowledge of features, security, and management of the Cisco CallManager. This course focuses on applications that extend the capabilities of the Cisco CallManager. These applications center on Cisco video telephony products, on secure IP telephony, and on monitor and managing IP telephony. This course provides the opportunity to practice configurations in the lab while informing you of the processes, procedures, features and applications associated with a Cisco IP telephony solution.

Skills Taught
Upon completion of the Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT) course, the student will be able to:
  • Configure Cisco CallManager to support Video Calls
  • Secure an IP Communications network
  • Manage IP Communications solutions with internal server tools


Audience
Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT) is designed for students with a solid background in Cisco networking. The course is ideal for technicians who use or are training to use the Cisco CallManager product. It is also extremely beneficial for students that build Cisco voice architectures. This course will prepare students for future use with additional data, voice, and video services through Cisco CallManager’s open telephony application programming interface (TAPI). Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT) is also recommended for any students attempting Cisco IP Telephony certifications.

Prerequisites
Students that want to enroll in this course should possess a fundamental knowledge of Cisco networking and TCP/IP as well as IP Telephony. Successful completion of the following certifications/courses (or equivalent experience) is strongly recommended:
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN)
  • Cisco Voice over IP (CVOICE)
  • Microsoft Software for Cisco Voice (MCSV)
